TC-130 UNIVERSAL
MAGNETIC TAPE CONTROLLER

FOR USE WITH DEC PDP-11 COMPUTERS

Combines both RE and NRZ
formats on boards to fit all
DEC PDP-11 computers.

The Western Peripherals TC-130
Magnetic Tape Controller offers
users the convenience of both
Phase Encoded and NRZ formats
consolidated onto plug-in PC
boards. In addition, it provides the
ability to nnix 7-track and 9-track
NRZ, PE or dual-density tape units
in any combination up to eight
units.

On 7-track, it's 4-4-4-4 pack al-
lows the user to dump core memo-
ry onto tape; and a 33-vi/ord data
buffer instead of the usual two-byte
buffer gives greater flexibility in
assigning priorities to the com-
puter.

Read-and-write on the fly, another
feature, allows automatic non-stop
operation when doing consecutive
read-write operations, and it saves
switching time when switching be-
tween multiple tape units. This is
accomplished automatically with-
out special software.

DEC PDP-11 COMPATIBLE

The TC-130 is software compatible
with all PDP-11 series computers.
The boards plug into the computer
and connect with the tape drive
through the rear of the computer.

Available separately
and as a total system.

All tape drives designed to be
compatible with the industry stan-
dard interface can be used with
the TC-130. These include drives
operating at 12.5 to 125 ips from
Kennedy, Wangco, Cipher, Pertec,
Amcomp, and Qantex.

The TC-1 30 is supplied with a one-
year warranty and instructions.
Cables desired to connect the
computer to the tape drives must
be specified separately.

TS-130

MAGNETIC TAPE SYSTEM

Complete Western Peripherals
magnetic tape systems for PDP-1 1
series computers are designated
TS-130. These systems consist of
the TC-130 Magnetic Tape Con-
troller installed in the computer
(supplied by the user) and a spe-
cified tape drive or drives which
may be ordered from Western Pe-
ripherals or supplied by the user.

The system is fully integrated,
tested and shipped with a one-year
factory warranty. For prices,
contact Western Peripherals with
the tape drives specified, cable
lengths and other requirements. A
detailed quotation will be issued
promptly.
